How does the L’oaf card game work?

At the start of each round, players receive an order indicating how much bread the group needs to bake. Each baker secretly chooses a work card from their hand, with values ranging from 0 to 11. Higher cards mean more effort, lower cards mean more loafing.

Once all cards are revealed, the values are added together. If the group meets the order, the bakery succeeds. If not, the order fails and consequences follow.

Success or failure: reputation matters

• Successful order: the player who contributed the most gains reputation with the bosses.
• Failed order: the player who contributed the least loses reputation.

This system creates constant tension. Do you step up to save the team, or quietly hope others will cover for you?

Game end and winning conditions

The game ends as soon as five orders succeed or five orders fail. After that, final scoring begins — but with an important twist.

If the group failed five orders, all players with negative reputation are fired and removed from scoring. The remaining players then count the total value of the cards left in their hand. The player with the highest total wins the game.
