Product information
Designed by Stewart T. Coffin
The Nest‑Pin Puzzle is an elegant combination of two classic puzzle concepts created by Stewart T. Coffin: his well‑known Nest designs and the Pin‑Hole principle. Both concepts were originally developed in 1976. This Nest‑Pin Puzzle can be seen as a lighter, more accessible variation of Coffin’s Cuckoo’s Nest and Locked Nest designs.
In this version, the holes are drilled at a 90‑degree angle, whereas Coffin himself often worked with a 70‑degree angle. During assembly and disassembly, the relationship between the pin and hole structures becomes clearly visible, offering both an engaging challenge and a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanical logic.
Stewart T. Coffin, born in 1930, is an American puzzle maker widely regarded as one of the most influential designers of polyhedral and interlocking puzzles. His designs may be freely reproduced, provided prior contact is made and a few copies are sent to him. Stewart T. Coffin, still alive at the time of this release, has personally granted permission to reproduce his puzzles.
An essential addition for collectors and for anyone who appreciates classic mechanical puzzles with clear structural principles.
