Octobuns

Build Delicious Buns and Serve the Harbour

In Octobuns, players take on the role of ambitious octopus bakers competing to serve hungry harbour visitors. Gather fresh ingredients, combine them into delicious buns and complete customer orders to earn coins and gain an advantage over your opponents.

This charming family card game blends resource management, planning and tactical decision-making into a fast-paced and accessible experience. Whether you are playing with family or experienced gamers, every turn offers meaningful choices and exciting opportunities.

How to Play Octobuns

Your goal is to complete customer orders as efficiently as possible. The moment a player finishes five orders, the game comes to an end. The player who has collected the most coins is crowned the most successful octopus baker.

On your turn, choose one of several available actions:

• Take an ingredient from the market and add it to your bakery.
• Combine ingredients to create a tasty bun.
• Attract a harbour guest and reserve their order for yourself.
• Trade in one of your buns to retrieve a specific ingredient from the discard pile.
• Reorganise your bakery by moving or removing ingredients.

Every action matters. Do you focus on quick orders for steady income, or prepare for larger rewards by collecting harder-to-find ingredients?

Manage Your Limited Bakery Space

A key challenge in this strategy game is managing your compact 3x3 bakery grid. Ingredients and buns take up valuable space, forcing players to think ahead and optimise every move.

Efficient organisation can make the difference between completing an order at the perfect moment or falling behind the competition.

Earn Bonuses and Create Smart Combos

Completing orders rewards you with coins and often grants useful bonus actions. These bonuses can be saved for crucial moments, helping you accelerate your strategy or secure an important ingredient before your opponents do.

Because of these extra rewards, every completed order feels satisfying and opens new tactical possibilities throughout the game.
