From the 13th through the 17th Century, more than 900 monumental statues, moai, were erected on the Polynesian island Rapa Nui. Standing along the coast, facing inland, atop huge stone terraces, the moai still bear witness to the refinement of this vanished civilization.

In the game Rapa Nui you are the chief of one of the Rapa Nui clans of this era, and you are part of the grand adventure of the moai builders. Use your wisdom and exterise to guide the villagers to sculpt, transport, and erect moai on the ahu terraces, then style them with pukao headdresses of red stone. Receive precious resources in exchange for your labor, and transform them into prestigious offerings that will make you the most acclaimed chief of the isle!
