Tokaido Duo (New edition)

A serene journey for one or two players

Welcome, travelers, to the Japanese island of Shikoku!

Tokaido Duo is a standalone game, inspired by Tokaido but featuring entirely new mechanics for an elegant and atmospheric 1–2 player experience.

Each turn, you choose which actions your three unique characters will perform through a rapid dice roll as they move across various tracks on the island. Each character explores the world in their own way, scoring points along a unique path:

The Pilgrim visits shrines, gardens, seashores, and hot springs in their quest for spiritual experiences.
The Merchant collects traditional souvenirs and sells them at the right time for maximum profit.
The Artist paints beautiful landscapes and gifts their artwork to the locals.

Choose carefully which character to send on their journey and try to be the first to complete one of their quests while enjoying the tranquility of the journey.
